I have decided to return to posting new “Throwback Adventures” after taking time to re-post some of my favorites with Shadow. This has been a therapeutic process for me to share. We are devastated that both Shadow and Buster have both passed, but find peace knowing we can continue to remember them through our “Throwback Adventures”. They were amazing boys and are forever in our hearts.
In October 2017 Shadow, Wilma, My Mom and I Adventured to the Stone Iron Furnace in Franconia, New Hampshire. This Furnace is the only surviving Blast Furnace in the state of New Hampshire. The Furnace is on private property but can be viewed across the Gale River from the Interpretive Center.
We had a River-highlighted Adventure to the Stone Iron Furnace. I believe we found the Stone Iron Furnace accidentally. We explored the River on the gorgeous Fall day. Shadow loved drinking from the clear mountain water, while Wilma preferred staying high atop the rocks. This was one of the stops on our first weekend away with Wilma. Although the Stone Iron Furnace was a simple location, we always cherish our Adventures. Definitely a great piece of history for those Furnace fans (Throwback Adventures will not always be rated).
