October 12, 2024 – White Mountains – New Hampshire

Today, Wilma, Gus, and I Adventured to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The White Mountains are a mountain range that cover a large part of New Hampshire, and also a portion of western Maine. The White Mountains include 48 peaks at over 4,000 feet. The White Mountains are popular for skiing, hiking, and ATVing.

We had a foliage-filled adventure to the White Mountains. I was excited for a Fall daytrip on a gorgeous New England day. Our locations included: Littleton, Lancaster, Hart’s Location, Bretton Woods, and of course some other stops for beautiful scenery. We headed out early, however, definitely not early enough on the Saturday before Columbus Day, the crowds were out! Unfortunately, it was so extremely windy that Gus was very nervous. This caused me to change my plans a bit to make everyone happy and comfortable. On the other hand, Wilma enjoyed as many rolls as she could fit in. I enjoyed the lovely scenery, and getting out for the day on an adventure. We even found a new covered bridge, accidentally – the Mechanic Street Covered Bridge. So glad to have an adventure in the White Mountains – even if it did not go as expected (this blog will not be rated).

October 3, 2024 – A little bit of Maine

On Thursday Wilma, Gus, and I Adventured to Maine, on quite a gorgeous Fall day. Life has been very busy for us, as I am attempting to move (locally) so we have just been engaging in our local walks. I therefore was especially excited to get away for a bit and add a new blog, even if it was locations we had visited to before. Most of our adventures were in York, and Cape Elizabeth but I definitely enjoyed a scenic drive. Poor Gus had alot of nervous moments, so I had to change up our plans some, however, thankfully he almost immediately resets once in the car. So glad to share a little collage from this recent adventure.

The weekly Video/Photo section highlights an Adventure, while I might also sneak in some that are humorous, adorable, or just other fun dog moments. If you have followed my blog from the beginning you know that I adopted Shadow as a puppy, and about a year later adopted Buster as a puppy.  We had many wonderful years together before experiencing the devastating loss of Buster at just seven.  It took a long time for our hearts to heal, but almost a year after his passing we welcomed little Wilma into our world.  We were devastated to lose Shadow on April 3, 2020.These two precious boys will be furever in our hearts! We were recently thrilled to add another amazing rescue, Gus, to our home on June 28, 2021! This Weekly Video/Photo section will allow me to share photos from all four of my rescues, whether it be a precious memory, or a current moment.

Today’s photograph is one of Wilma and Gus cuddling with me during a recent Patriots’ game! I absolutely love these cuddling moments. I would say Wilma can be particular about her furry friends, but I am beyond thankful that she adores her little brother Gus. I think I took about twenty photographs of this moment (haha)! I picked one of the many to capture the moment. Here they are:

Today’s photograph is one of Shadow and Buster back in 2016. I was just thinking of them today, as I often do…they were the best of friends! I am not sure where we are when I snapped this photograph, but they posed so well as they always did! I miss these two so much! Endless photographs to remember my boys. Here they are:

Today’s photograph is one of Wilma and Gus this weekend. They had joined their grandmother on the couch, and were just looking adorable, side by side. I could not help to snap endless photographs, and this was one of my favorites. Are they not just adorable?!

September 12, 2024 – Felix Family Farm – School Street Sunflowers – Massachusetts

Tonight, Wilma, Gus and I Adventured to School Street Sunflowers. School Street Sunflowers is a seasonal event on Felix’s Family Farm in Ipswitch, Massachusetts. Tickets are required for this Sunflower event and can be purchased online for $12. There are over 100,000 sunflowers on this Farm.

We had a sunflower filled adventure to Felix Farm. We arrived, showed our ticket, and parked next to the Field. Upon arrival I found the entrance a bit complicated as the farm animals lined the Field. I therefore decided to slip under the gate as I figured the pups would become quite loud in meeting these new creatures. Luckily this worked well but it was a little busier than we preferred so did not explore the entire garden, however, were still able to view and enjoy endless sunflowers. The sun was setting which made for a lovely setting, but yet probably should have come a little earlier to get some brighter photographs. However, I still snapped away and we wandered around the area. Gus was very curious to watch everyone and everything while Wilma’s highlight was some rolls and laying for a bit in the grass. We did not see any other dogs visiting, but many other people enjoying the lovely location. Such a unique spot! So glad we could visit Felix Farm today (Rating: This blog will not be rated)

Today’s photograph is of Wilma and Gus at The Mount last month. The Mount is a beyond spectacular location. It was hard for me to not blog about it as I have blogged about it before, but I was glad to snap at least two photographs that I could utilize in my weekly section. If you have not been to The Mount it definitely is a must-see location. Here they are:

September 2, 2024 – Dairy Queen – Ipswitch, Massachusetts

Today, Wilma, Gus, and I Adventured to Dairy Queen in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Dairy Queen is an international franchise that serves items, including ice cream, burgers, and shakes. Some of the Dairy Queens have drive-thru windows but not this particular one.

We had a desert filled Adventure to the Dairy Queen in Ipswich. This has been a busy weekend of projects, which equals endless backyard time for the pups, which they absolutely love! However, we were able to fit in a local walk yesterday and some Northshore coastal time today. I was not planning on going to Dairy Queen but spotted it on the way and figured we would check it out on the way home. This Dairy Queen was a little nicer than many I have visited, although still simple. It was on a main road, but it had some nice foliage and a seating area for guests to enjoy their treats. It is unusual that I go into a location with the pups in the car, but it was cool out and very quiet, so I ordered, came out and then went back in to retrieve our items. The pus got the requested “dog ice cream” (haha!) and I ordered an Orange Julius. Neither complained about their goodies, and slurped every drop as you may expect. I did not love my Orange Julius but glad I could try it as it sounded like something that would be good. Oh well. So glad we could end our half day adventures with a treat (This blog will not be rated).

Today’s photograph is of Shadow and Wilma at my parents’ house. They were both gazing out the window at whatever was catching their attention. I always love synchronized photos – so cute! Shadow and Buster were best of friends, there is no doubt about it. Here are the boys, we sure do miss them:

August 22, 2024 – Park-McCullough Historic House – Vermont

Yesterday, Wilma, Gus, and I had a lovely, long daytrip that included five main adventures. I will be posting two of these (which happen to be the smaller ones) as the others I have blogged about previously.

Yesterday, Wilma, Gus, and I Adventured to the Park-McCullough Historic House in Bennington, Vermont. The Park-McCullough Historic House is a Victorian mansion built between 1864-1865. It was originally owned by Trenor W. Park, a wealthy entrepreneur. Park’s descendants made additional renovations before later entertaining President Benjamin Harrison as a guest. The Park-McCullough Historic House Association, a non-profit organization, currently owns the home and offers tours. The home is also utilized for special events.

We had a lovely Adventure to the Park-McCullough Historic House. We arrived as the sun was setting and headed straight for the gardens. The gardens were simple, yet lovely. We explored the grounds, the massive porch, and as much as we could locate. Both the pups enjoyed rolls, and the smells of the new area. There were other visitors wandering the grounds and locals walking with their dogs on leash. I loved watching the sun streaming through the trees, locating the little house-like structure, and of course the flower gardens. We took our time at this House before heading off to our last location. So glad we could Adventure to the Park McCullough House yesterday (this blog will not be rated).
