The weekly Video/Photo section highlights an Adventure, while I might also sneak in some that are humorous, adorable, or just other fun dog moments. If you have followed my blog from the beginning you know that I adopted Shadow as a puppy, and about a year later adopted Buster as a puppy.  We had many wonderful years together before experiencing the devastating loss of Buster at just seven.  It took a long time for our hearts to heal, but almost a year after his passing we welcomed little Wilma into our world.  We were devastated to lose Shadow on April 3, 2020.These two precious boys will be furever in our hearts! We were recently thrilled to add another amazing rescue, Gus, to our home on June 28, 2021! This Weekly Video/Photo section will allow me to share photos from all four of my rescues, whether it be a precious memory, or a current moment.

Today’s photo is a snapshot of Buster taking a nap on big brother Shadow. These two boys were probably the cuddliest of my pairs, just a year apart and both with similar energy as youngers. I often caught them curled up with each other, which will always melted by heart. He had a short life due to his brain tumor, but we definitely enjoyed every moment. Here he is:

Today’s photo is a snapshot of Gus in Franconia, New Hampshire from last month. It was taken on the bicycle trail at the parking for the Basin. We spent some of our time on this path, drawn in by the oranges of the season. Gus was posing brilliantly on this large and scenic rock, a perfect photograph for this week’s Weekly Photo. Here is my handsome boy:

November 2, 2023 – Endless Leaves

This weekend we spent our time on local walks each day, and in our yard filled with endless leaves. Wilma and Gus loved running and playing through the leaves; however, both were hesitant to get into a pile for posing. I am not sure what they thought a pile would involve, yet surprisingly Gus was the brave one. And although my plan was to stay local, partly to rake and work in my yard, I spent more time putzing around and doing other simple projects (haha). Although my yard is far from grand, I am so thankful my dogs have always had this fenced in area full of squirrels, dog beds, and love. I guess we will figure out what to do with all the leaves on another day. Hope your Fall weekend was a good one!

Today’s photo is a snapshot of puppy Shadow after he had gotten in some mischief. If I remember correctly, he had some good entertainment with a large plant. I find this especially funny as I always think of Shadow as my most well-behaved dog, although he did have his expected moments as a puppy. This photograph makes me smile! I sure do miss him! Here he is:

Today’s photo is a snapshot of Wilma and Gus at Colt State Park earlier this month. We did not blog about this Adventure as we have before, but this photograph was the perfect one to share for today’s Weekly Video/Photo section. It was a gloomy day but these adorable still make the perfect photograph. Here they are:

Today’s photo is a photo of me and the boys – Shadow and Buster back in Tampa on a July hike. This is one of my favorite photographs of myself with these two amazing pups, even if the quality is not perfection. We had so many special times, and adventures. Although I wish I had a crew of four, I am thankful to have endless photographs to remember the fun we had. Here they are:

Today’s photo is a snapshot of Shadow and Buster up in the White Mountains on a very lovely Fall day. I believe this photograph was taken the weekend before Buster passed away. We had a wonderful vacation in the White Mountains, and although we knew Buster had a terminal illness we did not know the end was so close. Special memories made, frozen into photographs like this one. Here the boys are, we sure do miss them:

Today’s photo is a snapshot of Shadow and Wilma on an apple picking adventure. I love this photograph of them, the perfect pose. So glad Wilma had the privilege of growing up with Shadow. He was one special boy. Here they are:

Other Tidbits, Fun, and News

We are officially back after our break from the blog this past September. We have enjoyed lots of local walks, and time in the backyard as we are just about to begin our favorite season of the year! Wilma’s leg is doing great, and we are back on track. We have had a couple bumps along the way as until about two weeks ago Wilma was refusing to get into the car. She is very smart, and very stubborn, and always has been my mysterious one. However, we have been able to get her in the car with some elegant delicacies (haha) and we will continue to work on this situation to make sure it is a pleasant and happy experience for all! We are excited about a couple weekends away later in the month and look forward to some other plans as well. Hope everyone has enjoyed their September…let the Fall of new Adventures begin!

Other Tidbits, Fun, and News

I have decided to take a break from the blog for the month of September. My summer break is about to end which is always a challenging transition for me. Luckily the pups have always been unphased by this change, so I would expect that would be the case. However, with a little more resting planned for Wilma’s leg, and adjusting to the new routine, I thought this would be a good idea. We will still be getting our walk on but mostly visiting our local favorites, and slowly building up Wilma’s stamina to ensure her leg is where we expect. I look forward to being back in October and returning to the blog and new adventures. Thank you to those who have followed us! We will be back!
