Gus is Three!!!!

I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to the amazing Gus!! I cannot believe he is already three!! He is the sweetest, most cuddly boy! I was thankful to be off today, so we partied hard (haha!) . Both Wilma and Gus enjoyed his new singing birthday toy, which I will have to admit Wilma hogged a bit! Gus enjoyed his tasty cake, and even gave Wilma a bite. He was a good sport with his hat but not really his thing, and as soon as it was off he devoured the cake!! I bought Wilma her own cupcake to make sure she felt included!! I love this silly and special days, and would not change a thing as I would never miss a moment to celebrate these special two – my hearts!! Happy Birthday to our boy Gus!

February 19-21, 2024 – Maine Getaway

This week Wilma, Gus, My Mom, and I had a little getaway centered in our favorite Inn in Camden, Maine. Our adventures included: Camden, Gorham, Bristol, Cape Elizabeth, and some scenic road stops throughout Maine. We also enjoyed some home spa activities, relaxing, playing cards, and lots of cuddles and time with toys. It was some of everything and just right. I am beyond thankful that we could plan a trip with Mom! Here is a photo collage summary of our Maine adventure!

The weekly Video/Photo section highlights an Adventure, while I might also sneak in some that are humorous, adorable, or just other fun dog moments. If you have followed my blog from the beginning you know that I adopted Shadow as a puppy, and about a year later adopted Buster as a puppy.  We had many wonderful years together before experiencing the devastating loss of Buster at just seven.  It took a long time for our hearts to heal, but almost a year after his passing we welcomed little Wilma into our world.  We were devastated to lose Shadow on April 3, 2020.These two precious boys will be furever in our hearts! We were recently thrilled to add another amazing rescue, Gus, to our home on June 28, 2021! This Weekly Video/Photo section will allow me to share photos from all four of my rescues, whether it be a precious memory, or a current moment.

Today’s photo is one of the boys, Shadow and Buster, back in 2015 at the Cliff Walk in Newport, Rhode Island. We took a little break and some photographs on the rocks. I remember it being a little foggy but yet a lovely pathway along the ocean. This is actually the only time I have been there but might have to get back there in the future. I sure do miss these boys! Here they are:

Today’s photo is of one of Wilma and Gus, on Gus’ first vacation, in Woodstock, Vermont. I absolutely love this photograph of the two of them together in one of my favorite New England towns. They are posing at the Middle Covered Bridge. This photograph makes me smile and hope it does you as well!

February 10, 2024 – Waterfront Public Art Walk, New Bedford – Massachusetts

Last Sunday Wilma, Gus, and I Adventured to the Waterfront Public Art Walk in New Bedford. Massachusetts. This project is brought to the public by New Bedford Creative Org. There are several locations to enjoy a self-guided tour and see artwork including: sculptures, murals, and various other creative work.

We had a colorful Adventure so the Waterfront Public Art Walk. Although we had a map, I do not believe we found all the artwork, and not all the streets were labeled. I do believe it might have been an older map as well, but we did locate the majority of the art. In addition the map did indicate not all art was found on the map.

We began our walk on the waterfront, enjoying the colorful boats bobbing in the sea. There was alot of construction but we were able to locate all of the art on MacArthur Drive. Both Wilma and Gus enjoyed some rolls and posing. We then crossed the busy road to continue our journey. I soon realized it might be alot for Gus as we were entering into a more city like environment, with small roads, more people and increased sounds. However we did explore a bit trying to find all the art we could before turning back around back to the quiet of the waterfront. A good variety in our day in New Bedford (this blog will not be rated).

January 27, 2024 – Berlin Riverwalk – New Hampshire

Today, Wilma, Gus, and I Adventured to the Berlin Riverwalk in Berlin, New Hampshire. The Berlin Riverwalk was constructed in 2022. It is a handicapped accessible paved path that parallels the Androscoggin River. There are several viewing areas, and benches along the path.

We had a dark but energetic walk on the Berlin Riverwalk. We spent the day in New Hampshire but this was the only new Adventure, so hence one blog. I had seen this Riverwalk back in October after returning from a long daytrip. At that time, it was much prettier being Fall and seeing the rushing water. Today, on the other hand, besides being grey out, the water was frozen and snowed over, leaving a less lovely scene. I recall loving the green iron bridge on my autumn drive through, although today it hardly stood out. Even though the scene was far from spectacular we still enjoyed getting our walk on along this path. We might just have to return in a more scenic season (This blog will not be rated).

Today’s photo is a snapshot of Wilma and Gus, back when Gus was just a wee puppy :) They are posing next to some lovely wildflowers on one of our Adventures back in the summer of 2021. It is amazing to think Gus was ever so small, and how their connection has grown to being the best of friends. Here they are:
