Other Tidbets, Fun, and News

I am excited to inform my friends, and followers that I will be adding a kayaking section to my blog! As many of you know Gus often joins me on my kayaking trips. We have not yet been out this year but hope to change that soon. He sometimes will nap, while other will sit or stand and enjoys the view. The kayak has not yet tipped, although one occasion he somehow ended up out of the boat, but the handle on the lifebelt let me lift him right back in. Gus seems to enjoy this past time and I love his company! I have thought of bringing Wilma but she is about twenty pounds heavier, and does not like tipping movements, like that of a dock… so I feel she would not enjoy this experience. The lucky lady, however, often hangs out with Grandma and Grandpa on these adventures which is a perfect day as well! I will mostly just post new places we have been to but on occasion may re-post on a different days’ adventure. As you may expect I will only blog those times Gus is with me on these paddles. I have attached the link below for past kayaking adventures and look forward to adding more soon.

The weekly Video/Photo section highlights an Adventure, while I might also sneak in some that are humorous, adorable, or just other fun dog moments. If you have followed my blog from the beginning you know that I adopted Shadow as a puppy, and about a year later adopted Buster as a puppy.  We had many wonderful years together before experiencing the devastating loss of Buster at just seven.  It took a long time for our hearts to heal, but almost a year after his passing we welcomed little Wilma into our world.  We were devastated to lose Shadow on April 3, 2020.These two precious boys will be furever in our hearts! We were recently thrilled to add another amazing rescue, Gus, to our home on June 28, 2021! This Weekly Video/Photo section will allow me to share photos from all four of my rescues, whether it be a precious memory, or a current moment.

Today’s photo is yet another one of Wilma and Gus at the Arnold Arboretum, taken this past weekend. It is definitely our happy place, and I love finding new blooms every time we visit this gorgeous and peaceful location. Here they are, yet again:

Today’s video is one from Halibut Point State Park in Rockport, Massachusetts. I do not believe I have posted it in my Weekly Video/Photo section, but you may have seen it in my blog about the Park. It absolutely cracks me up so I had to share it as a Video highlight. Wilma is far from a water girl but it was a hot day inspiring her to play in the seaweed and tidepools…it was just hysterical. I hope it brings a smile to your face, as it did to mine.

Today’s photograph is a recent photo of Gus when he was napping. This boy sure enjoys life, and on occasion he does sleep (haha). Actually he follows my routine well and rests when I do…! Although he has nervous moments out and about, he is always relaxed and at peace at home. Look how sweet his sleeping face is…my boy!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from Wilma, Gus, and I!! Although we were planning on heading to my parents I have not been feeling well all week, so we decided to post-pone. However today I was feeling better so we enjoyed a nice walk, and enjoying a beautiful spring day in the backyard, as I worked in the yard. Wilma absolutely loves the sun and playing ball, while Gus is the cutest ball thief I ever did meet! They are so fun to watch.

Happy Easter to all of my friends, family and followers!

Wilma turns 6!!

Today is Wilma’s Birthday she is now 6! I cannot believe how fast these years have flown by! We celebrated with a homemade cake, ice cream and whip cream, and new toys! Wilma and Gus were thrilled to have Grandma and Grandpa join us for the festivities and spoil them with lots of love and new toys! They enjoyed playing, chewing, and eating (haha!) I absolutely love these days it just is so fun to celebrate my pups who have brought so much love and joy to my life and made my world a happier place. I of course took endless photos and a couple videos of which you can see below. Happy Birthday sweet Girl!

Today’s photograph is from July 14, 2017, when Wilma was a wee puppy and Shadow a young 9! I love this photograph and just cannot believe how small Wilma once was….time sure does fly! I am lucky to have had three amazing pairs, including these special two. We were about to get ice cream in this photograph but do not remember if they had seen it or were just posing perfectly. They just are adorable-don’t you think?! 🙂

Today’s photograph is from last week as we headed to our ferry in Hyannis, to Nantucket. We stopped at the Green Briar Nature Center which we have visited before on our way to the Cape. We walked around and the pups posed while My Mom checked out the gift shop. It was a dark New England day, however I captured this photograph of the pups enjoying the scene. Here they are….

February 22, 2023 – John F. Kennedy Memorial – Massachusetts

On Wednesday Wilma, Gus, My Mom, and I Adventured to the John F. Kennedy Memorial in Hyannis, Massachusetts, part of Cape Cod. The John F. Kennedy Memorial is a small Memorial dedicated to former John F. Kennedy which overlooks the waters he spent time sailing through. The Memorial includes: a reflecting pool, a stone wall with a bronze medallion of John F. Kennedy, and benches.

We had a short Adventure to the John F. Kennedy Memorial. We decided to check out the site and stretch our legs after returning to Hyannis from the Nantucket Ferry. We walked around the paved area, enjoyed the ocean view, and checked out the reflecting pool. Unfortunately, being off-season the pool was not kept up, there was little landscaping, and plenty of goose poop. However we attempted to ignore these factors and appreciate the Memorial. We were not at the location long, but being it was so small we still did not miss any part of the Memorial. I was disappointed that a Memorial of a for President was far from impressive, but yet maybe my expectations were too high, being it is Winter in Massachusetts. Yet still glad we could check out the John F. Kennedy Memorial (This blog will not be rated).
