Weekly Video/Photo

If you regularly follow my blog, and the weekly/video photo I would recommend skipping on to paragraph three, specific to this week’s video/photo.  I have decided to add a weekly video/photo section to my blog.  This blog will display a video or photo, usually highlighting an Adventure, while I might also sneak in some that are humorous, adorable, or just other fun dog moments.

So if you have followed my blog from the beginning you will know that I adopted Shadow as a puppy, and about a year later adopted Buster as a puppy.  We had many wonderful years together before experiencing the devastating loss of Buster at just seven.  It took a long time for our hearts to heal, but almost a year later we welcomed little Wilma into our world.

So today I will be featuring a photograph from Bancroft Castle in Groton, Massachusetts. I find this photo perfect as it is a beautiful and unique spot, and shows Shadow and Wilma’s excitement in the moment. Why pose when you can roll around and play?! I found it adorable, and thought it was the perfect choice for today’s Weekly Video/Photo. See the “Massachusetts” section of my blog for more on our Adventure to Bancroft Castle.

Throwback Adventure- Groton Dog Park – Massachusetts

I will have sections of my blog that I will title “Throwback Adventure”, and will plan on posting them every Thursday. These are journeys we have taken before I started the blog, but are well worth sharing. Many of these Throwback Adventures will include our Buster, who was known for his crazy tail, his happy howl, and his zest for life. We miss him dearly…he is forever in our hearts!

We have been to the Groton Dog Park numerous times with Shadow, Buster, Wilma, and My Mom. The Groton Dog Park is actually not a dog park, but is a popular spot for dog lovers located in Groton, Massachusetts. The trails parallel the Nashua River and also run throughout the woods. I am guessing this Park is part of the conservation land, but it is not clearly indicated.

The Groton Dog Park is an absolutely beautiful location full of dog fun, and the gorgeous outdoors. Dogs are able to run free, play, swim, and roll, as they please. We enjoy walking throughout the Park and sitting along the River’s edge, the boats peacefully gliding by. My memories of this park are special, full of relaxation, and fun times. Two of my favorite photographs of Shadow and Buster have come at this location, at least one compliments of my Mom (thanks Mom 🙂 ). Definitely a dog’s paradise. We used to frequent this location often, and likely will plan a visit in the future (Rating: 4).

May 19, 2018 – Massachusetts – Bancroft Castle

Today we had our second adventure to Bancroft’s Castle in Groton.  (I therefore will include pictures from our first visit too, just last November).  Bancroft’s Castle was built in 1906 by General William Bancroft on Gibbet Hill in Groton, Massachusetts.  Much of this Castle was destroyed in July 1932 during a fire.  The Castle and trails are now part of Groton’s conservation land, so it can be enjoyed by all.

A steep, but short walk up a hill brings you to this small Castle, neighboring a local  pasture.  The Castle itself is towering in height, but yet small in area. I took many photos as we walked throughout the ruins of the Castle.  Wilma enjoyed jumping throughout the hideouts, while Shadow was eager to pose for photos, my treat driven boy.  After enjoying this unique spot, we wandered the nearby trails.  This area gives quite the view of the town of Groton and surrounding areas.  The Castle is quite the hidden gem.
