June 20 – Kelsey Arboretum – Massachusetts

Today Wilma, Gus, My Mom, and I Adventured to the Kelsey Arboretum in Boxford, Massachusetts. The Kelsey Arboretum is a four acre property that preserves the shrubs and trees of Harlan Kelsey who originated the Arboretum in 1929. The Arboretum includes various greenery and has benches, and picnic tables for guests to sit and relax.

We had a shady Adventure to the Kelsey Arboretum. I was pleased to arrive to find we were the only car in the parking lot. We ventured through the gates, reviewed some information, and headed on our walk. We circled the Arboretum and found several other trails to traverse. As we were aware the property was very small. We found minimal flowering plants and guessed we may have missed the main blooming season of the Arboretum. I was a little disappointed at our findings, but yet it is always nice to have wonderful company and spend some time in the great outdoors. Glad we could cross off another New England Arboretum from our list today (Rating: 2).

The weekly Video/Photo section highlights an Adventure, while I might also sneak in some that are humorous, adorable, or just other fun dog moments. If you have followed my blog from the beginning you know that I adopted Shadow as a puppy, and about a year later adopted Buster as a puppy.  We had many wonderful years together before experiencing the devastating loss of Buster at just seven.  It took a long time for our hearts to heal, but almost a year after his passing we welcomed little Wilma into our world.  We were devastated to loose Shadow on April 3, 2020.These two precious boys boys will be furever in our hearts! We were recently thrilled to add another amazing rescue, Gus, to our home on June 28, 2021! This Weekly Video/Photo section will allow me to share photos from all four of my rescues, whether it be a precious memory, or a current moment.

Today’s photograph is one of my sweet Buster. He is enjoying the view out the window as we were about to get new windows. He was a handsome boy who always added a smile to my face. He will forever be missed.

Today’s photograph is a selfie of me with Shadow and Wilma at Battleship Cove in Fall River. It was quite the scenic pose at a unique location. I am so grateful that I have been blessed with three amazing pairs, Shadow and Wilma being the second pair. We so miss our boys! Glad that these two had many spectacular adventures together.

June 6, 2022 – Ralph Waldo Emerson House – Massachusetts

Today Wilma, Gus, My Mom, and I Adventured to the Ralph Waldo Emerson House in Concord, Massachusetts. The Ralph Waldo Emerson House was the former home of Ralph Waldo Emerson, a poet, philosopher, and lecturer. The home is now a National Historic Landmark.

We had a brief Adventure to the Ralph Emerson house. I thought we would check out this historic local home before heading to our main destination. I was surprised upon arrival to hear loud barking dogs; I am guessing due to a private residence in part of the home. This made me a little cautious to approach the home closely, but yet there was minimal to explore either way as we were just visiting the grounds.

The house was gorgeous, a lovely white fence lining the property. The garden was simple but had some blooming florals. The pups were not up for a formal pose but still were adorable in their synchronized shot. Glad to formally visit the Emerson home today (this blog will not be rated)

Today’s photograph is one of Wilma from tonight. We wandered around the North Bridge paths and gardens, and Wilma posed just perfectly. The gardens were beautiful filled with Iris’ of all colors, and shapes, and a variety of other flowers as well. It was a lovely evening with the pups. Here she is:

Today’s photograph is one of Shadow back from July 2017 on our hike to Lonesome Lake in the White Mountains. It was one of my favorite hikes with my boy, who was amazing off-leash, and at nine did this hike with me. He was such a special boy. Glad to have so many photographs to cherish all of our adventures. Here he is enjoying this spectacular location!

May 16, 2022 – Long Hill – Massachusetts

Today Wilma, Gus, my Mom and I Adventured to Long Hill and Sedgwick Gardens in Beverly, Massachusetts.  This property is a 114 acres in size, the former estate of Ellery and Mabel Sedgwick.  It is currently owned and managed by the Trustees of Reservation.  The property includes:  gardens, the brick estate, trails, an orchard, a child’s garden, the “Food Project”, and a library specializing in horticulture.  There is currently a $10 charge for adults to enter Long Hill, although those with a Trustees pass can enter for free.

We had a colorful, fragrant, and relaxing Adventure to Long Hill. I have not been to, nor blogged about this park in three years, so was very excited to return. Off we headed and the memories of our first visit came flashing back. There were endless lovely flowers, and the gardens had been expanded since our initial visit. We walked, took photographs, and enjoyed the atmosphere. There were few other visitors, which of course I appreciated. Life has been challenging over the last several months, so our adventures in the outdoors always adds that peace to the soul. I was BEYOND disappointed to learn that my memory card was not in my camera, so therefore there are no gorgeous photographs to show. I still decided to blog about Long Hill as it is a unique, dog-friendly location. So glad we could visit Long Hill today (Rating: 4).

Today’s photograph is from September 2020 when Wilma and I took a sunrise trip to Sandwich, Massachusetts. I set the timer on my camera and captured a photograph of a lovely moment with my girl Wilma. We are definitely due for a beach adventure in the near future. Here we are:
